The average commuter in the Bryan-College Station area spent an extra 16 hours in traffic in 2016 thanks to congestion, up from 12 hours in 2007 -- and it's projected to get worse.

Congestion, which the Bryan/College Station Metropolitan Planning Organization defines as extra time spent outside the average length of a trip, has increased between 4 and 6 percent every year since 2010.
