TxDOT is making plans to boost the safety of Texas 21 and Texas 47 ahead of the school schedule.

With students set to arrive on the Texas A&M University System's RELLIS Campus this fall, road improvements to Texas 21 and Texas 47 could begin later this month to improve safety in the area.

The Texas Department of Transportation is planning crossover improvements on the two roads to accommodate the anticipated traffic associated with the campus. TxDOT Deputy District Engineer Chad Bohne said the goal is to have the improvements complete by early August before students and staff begin learning and teaching at the 2,000-acre high-tech research, testing, workforce development and academic hub outside Bryan.
