In The News: Bryan to Pursue Quiet Zone

The Bryan City Council gave consensus to move full steam ahead on implementing a downtown quiet zone, which could be established by summer 2020.

During a workshop discussion Tuesday, council members unanimously agreed that they favor an accelerated funding option that would put construction on schedule to begin by next spring. About $5.5 million for the project is in the city's fiscal year 2022 capital improvement project budget; to fast-track the quiet zone, a debt reimbursement resolution probably will be considered to use money from an alternate fund.
