About 25 percent of the work on the Francis Drive rehabilitation project, which began a little more than a year ago, was completed by a Houston construction company before it was fired last week by the City of College Station.

The city terminated its contract with Hassell Construction Company, Inc. last Thursday for its lack of substantial progress on the project to rehab the street, water line, and wastewater line on Francis between Glenhaven and Walton Drives.  The first phase of the project, which is to span Glenhaven to Munson Avenue, was originally expected to take 18 months to complete.
