The Texas Department of Transportation has begun a $2.5 million project to replace the asphalt on Texas Avenue in Bryan and College Station.

Crews from Knife River Corporation began the work Monday night.  The project will replace the pavement and markings from .5 miles north of Texas 21 in Bryan to George Bush Drive in College Station.

Most of the work will take place overnight, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sundays through Fridays, officials said.

The project is expected to last several months, and drivers are urged to use caution during the work zone.
